Whole-family chiropractic care for Meyers
About 13 minutes (7.5 mi) from our South Lake Tahoe office
Meyers, also known as Tahoe Paradise, sits on US-50 about 13 minutes south of Tahoe Chiropractic Clinic. The community takes its name from George Meyers, who bought Yank’s Station, the old Pony Express remount stop, in 1873. Whether you live in Christmas Valley, along North Upper Truckee or near Tahoe Paradise Park, or you work around the town center on US-50, our South Lake Tahoe office is an easy drive on US-50 East: north to the Y, then right along Lake Tahoe Blvd to Alameda Ave.
A busy commute on US-50, a winter of clearing snow or a big day at Sierra-at-Tahoe can leave you with back pain, stiff neck pain or sore knees. Your first visit starts with a consultation and a full chiropractic exam, followed by chiropractic care aimed at helping you move better.
Chiropractic & whole family wellness is how we describe what we do. Dr. Emma Freeze has a special interest in prenatal and pediatric care, so families from Tahoe Paradise to Christmas Valley can bring everyone to one place, and Dr. Joel Mackes loves helping active patients get back to the trails and the snow. New patients can start with our new patient special. Book your first visit. We’re about 13 minutes up the road.
Proudly serving: Tahoe Paradise, Christmas Valley, North Upper Truckee, the South Upper Truckee Road corridor, Lake Valley, the Meyers town center along US-50.
Local, family-focused care
Care that fits life in Meyers
Meyers is a small mountain community, home to 2,163 people at the 2020 Census, sitting at about 6,378 feet where US-50 comes down off Echo Summit into the Lake Tahoe Basin. More visitors enter the basin through Meyers than anywhere else around the lake, so locals know US-50 and Pioneer Trail as busy roads, and winter storms can bring chain controls over Echo Summit and slower traffic. Whether your day starts along South Upper Truckee Road in Christmas Valley, in the homes around Tahoe Paradise Park or out on North Upper Truckee, our office is about 13 minutes north on US-50, roughly 7.5 miles. It's a straightforward drive that stays in the valley, and on stormy days we'd rather you leave a little extra time than rush.
Life in Meyers is active all year. Winter means a drive over Echo Summit to Sierra-at-Tahoe or sledding at Adventure Mountain, and the rest of the year locals hike the Tahoe Rim Trail from Big Meadow, ride the nearby Corral mountain-bike trails, paddle Lake Baron or play a round at Lake Tahoe Golf Course. Dr. Joel Mackes shares that love of the outdoors, off-roading, the mountains and anything snow-related, and he is passionate about helping patients move better and stay active. For families, Dr. Emma Freeze brings a special interest in pregnancy and pediatric chiropractic care and is certified in the Webster Technique, so expecting moms, Meyers Elementary kids and grandparents can all be cared for in one place. Helping every generation live life to the fullest is what whole-family wellness means to us.
What we help with
How we can help Meyers residents
Back pain from the commute and the workday
US-50 and Pioneer Trail are heavily traveled routes between Meyers and South Lake Tahoe, and hours behind the wheel or on your feet add up. We look for what is really straining your lower back.
Learn more →Ski, snowboard and trail injuries
Sierra-at-Tahoe sits just over Echo Summit, and the Tahoe Rim Trail at Big Meadow and the Corral trails are close by. We help skiers, riders, hikers and mountain bikers keep moving.
Learn more →Knee pain
Long ski days, rides on the Corral trails and climbs from Big Meadow all load the knees. We look at how your hips, knees and spine are working together.
Learn more →Shoulder strain from snow and paddling
Clearing driveways after winter storms and paddling Lake Baron in summer are hard work for shoulders and upper backs.
Learn more →Whiplash after a car accident
Meyers is the main entry point into the Tahoe Basin, and winter storms bring chain controls over Echo Summit. After a collision on US-50, we offer gentle care for whiplash.
Learn more →Care for expecting moms
Dr. Emma Freeze has a special interest in pregnancy chiropractic care and is certified in the Webster Technique, a good fit for growing families in Tahoe Paradise and Christmas Valley.
