Whole-family chiropractic care for Zephyr Cove
About 15 minutes (6.0 mi) from our South Lake Tahoe office
Zephyr Cove sits on Lake Tahoe’s east shore in Douglas County, Nevada, and Tahoe Chiropractic Clinic is about 15 minutes south on US-50. Whether you live in Marla Bay, Zephyr Heights or up near Skyland, or you work at one of the Stateline casino resorts, getting here is a simple, lake-level drive down US-50 through Round Hill Village and Stateline, with no mountain pass to cross.
Long shifts on your feet can bring on back pain, the daily drive can leave you with neck pain, and a season of paddleboarding at Zephyr Cove Beach or skiing out of Heavenly’s Stagecoach Lodge can end with a sore shoulder. Your first visit starts with a consultation and a full chiropractic exam, followed by chiropractic care aimed at helping you move better.
Chiropractic & whole family wellness is how we describe what we do. Dr. Emma Freeze has a special interest in prenatal and pediatric care, so families with kids at Zephyr Cove Elementary or George Whittell High can be cared for in one place, and Dr. Joel Mackes loves helping patients stay active in the mountains. New patients can start with our new patient special. Book your first visit and see how easy the drive down the shore really is.
Proudly serving: Marla Bay, Zephyr Heights, Elk Point, Round Hill Village, Skyland.
Local, family-focused care
Care that fits life in Zephyr Cove
Zephyr Cove is a small, unincorporated lakeside community in Douglas County, Nevada, and getting almost anywhere from here means getting in the car. Most commuters drive alone, and many of the jobs are just down the shore at the Stateline casino resorts, Edgewood Tahoe and Heavenly, where a shift can mean hours of standing, lifting, housekeeping or food service. Census estimates also put the local median age in the mid-60s, so plenty of neighbors here are older adults who simply want to stay comfortable and keep moving. Our office is about 15 minutes south on US-50, a simple, lake-level drive through Round Hill Village and Stateline with no mountain pass to cross, which makes it easy to fit a visit in while you're running errands in South Lake Tahoe.
Life on the east shore is active all year. Summer means paddleboarding, kayaking and boating off Zephyr Cove Beach, Nevada Beach and Round Hill Pines, a round on the 18-hole disc golf course at Zephyr Cove Park, or a hike on the Tahoe Rim Trail from the Kingsbury or Spooner Summit trailheads. In winter, Heavenly is minutes away, whether you ride the gondola in Heavenly Village or park at the Nevada-side Stagecoach and Boulder lodges up Kingsbury Grade, and Zephyr Cove Resort's snowmobile tours climb to nearly 9,000 feet. Dr. Joel Mackes shares that love of the outdoors, the mountains and anything snow-related, and he is passionate about helping patients move better and stay active. For families with kids at Zephyr Cove Elementary or George Whittell High, Dr. Emma Freeze brings a special interest in pregnancy and pediatric chiropractic care and is certified in the Webster Technique. Helping every generation live life to the fullest is what whole-family wellness means to us.
What we help with
How we can help Zephyr Cove residents
Back pain from shift work on your feet
Many Zephyr Cove residents work at the Stateline casino resorts and recreation employers, where standing, lifting, housekeeping and food service add up. We look for what is really straining your lower back.
Learn more →Neck stiffness from time behind the wheel
Nearly everyone here drives, whether it's the run down US-50 to Stateline or over Kingsbury Grade and Spooner Summit to the Carson Valley and Carson City. Long drives can leave your neck tight and sore.
Learn more →Ski, snowboard and snowmobile strain
Heavenly's gondola and its Stagecoach and Boulder lodges are a short drive from Zephyr Cove, and Zephyr Cove Resort's snowmobile tours climb to nearly 9,000 feet. We help skiers, riders and sledders keep moving.
Learn more →Shoulder pain from paddling and tennis
Paddleboarding and kayaking off Zephyr Cove Beach, Nevada Beach and Round Hill Pines, or a few sets on the Zephyr Cove Park tennis courts, all ask a lot of your shoulders.
Learn more →Knee pain on hills and trails
Disc golf at Zephyr Cove Park and the climbs on the Tahoe Rim Trail load your knees. We look at how your hips, knees and spine are working together.
Learn more →Whiplash after a car accident
US-50 is the main road through Zephyr Cove, and winter storms bring chain controls to Kingsbury Grade and Spooner Summit. After a collision, we offer gentle care for whiplash.
